Suspects arrested in an operation at Peelton and border post

Police members from Steve Vukile Tshwete with the assistance of members from Tactical Response Team (TRT) arrested five suspects aged between 21 and 35 years for possession of drugs, unlicensed firearm and house robbery last night.

The arrest comes after Police were following the information they received about two suspects of house robbery at Nompumelelo Location. They went to the house and arrested these two suspects. Thorough investigation led Police to other house in Border Post where they arrested two suspects in possession of drugs and unlicensed firearm (Baby Brown Pistol) with a serial number filed off.

When Police were returning to the Police Station they also patrol the area and searched a male and found quarter of mandrax tablet and upon investigation he took Police to where he bought the drugs. Police arrested a 30-year-old female at Peelton Location with eleven mandrax tablets and dagga.

Police confiscated drugs to the estimated street value of R1000 and an undisclosed amount of cash. Two of the suspects were arrested for house robbery and two suspects for possession of drugs and an unlicensed firearm and one suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs.
These suspects will appear at Zwelitsha Magistrate Court on Monday.

The Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga commended the members for the job well done in arresting these perpetrators of crime. He also thanked the community for sharing valuable information to the Police and encouraged them to do more in helping in the fight against crime.
