Police busted man with copper during “Operation Basadi”

Women in blue led Crime Prevention Operation dubbed Operation Basadi, joined by women from Department of Home Affairs and Sol Plaatje Mucipality Traffic held static road blocks on N12 between Warrenton and Kimberley and on N8 between Kimberley and Bloemfontein.

The focus of the operation was curb crime, transportation of stolen goods, illegal firearms, drugs, stolen vehicles. During the operation fines were issued against motorist who contravened The Road Traffic Act. On N12 a 26-year-old man was arrested subsequent to be found in possession of suspected stolen copper.

The suspect was arrested at a static road on N12. He is expected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on tomorrow. Undocumented persons were also arrested, after failing to produce necessary documents, such as asylum documents and passport.
