Three appear for possession of unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen property

NELSPRUIT – Three men, Themba Khanye, 24, Steven Lekwane, 26 and Paulos Motwadira, 33 appeared before the Mdutjane Magistrate’s Court today, on charges of possession of suspected stolen property, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license. They were arrested yesterday, 04 August 2019, at Siyabuswa during an intelligence-driven operation.

During the operation, police followed up on information about three men who were allegedly in possession of a firearm, ammunition and suspected stolen property. The information led them to the suspects who were arrested at separate houses within the Kameelrivier area, one for possession of a firearm without a license and the other two, for possession of ammunition without a license and suspected stolen property. Police recovered an R1 Rifle, ammunition, flat-screen televisions, music systems, computers as well as a Wi-Fi router. The suspects were granted R1000 bail each.

Police management hailed the sterling work by the members who are always available to fight crime.
