Fourteen injured in four-vehicle collision on Welgedaght Road, Springs

A family of six were amongst the fourteen injured in a four-vehicle collision on Welgedaght Road, Springs last night.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 20:33 to find 3 light motor vehicles and a taxi had been involved in the collision. The Fire Department was in control of the situation and Provincial as well as two other private services had already treated and transported seven adult patients to various hospitals, including one in a serious condition. A family of 6, as well as an adult male,  were still seated in the taxi and in need of medical attention. Three children between the ages of 1 and 9, and four adults between the ages of 26 and 32 were treated for minor injuries and transported to a private hospital for further care.

A secondary head-on collision was reported 500 meters up the road where Metro Police was in attendance.
