An Alpha Alarms member who was travelling in the Durban CBD responded to a commotion when he saw members of the public chasing a male along the road.
The Alpha Alarms member stopped and assisted with the apprehension of the male where it was discovered that the knife-wielding suspect had mugged a woman and grabbed her bag whilst trying to getaway. The handbag was retrieved and members of the public grabbed hold of the suspect and beat him.
The victim declined to open a case and the suspect was dealt with by the public and released.
