Police arrest six suspects and recover unlicensed firearms after robbery in Dragon City

Police’s quick response led to the arrest of six suspects who were allegedly involved in the murder of a security guard and attempted robbery in Dragon City today, 06 September 2019, at approximately 12:45.

The suspects were spotted driving an Audi Q5 towards Booysen and were cornered at a house in Bertha Street, Turfontein. The vehicle driven by the suspects was reported to be hijacked in Johannesburg, this month.

During the arrest, five unlicensed firearms which are three rifles including two AK47’s, and two pistols were recovered.

Gauteng Police management has commended the swift response by officers after the community informed the police about the attempted robbery.

Suspects will appear in Johannesburg magistrate court on Monday.
