DURBAN – In the early hours of this morning, Bhekithemba police proceeded to Malangeni in Scottburgh after receiving information of a suspect who has been on the run after he allegedly murdered his girlfriend.
On arrival at the identified location, police officers nabbed the 27-year-old man hiding out at residential premises. He was arrested and charged for murder. He will appear in the Umlazi Magistrates Court soon.
On 30 September 2019 at 06:30, Bhekithemba police received a report of a murder at J Section in Umlazi. On arrival, the suspect’s mother directed police to a room where Ayanda Robin Ngcobo (24) lived with him. Her boyfriend was nowhere to be found. Ayanda had sustained numerous injuries and was certified dead at the scene.
A case of murder was opened at the Bhekithemba police station for investigation.
