NORTHERN CAPE – Adeno Wilamo Abamo (38) appeared at the Kuruman Magistrate Court yesterday for attempted bribery of immigration officers.
Abamo was arrested last week Friday by the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigating unit following a tip-off regarding an attempt to bribe Immigration officers. This emanates from arrests of five (5) undocumented persons.
Abamo allegedly approached the said officers and offered an R25 000 bribe for the release of five (5) detained suspects. He was arrested soon after he handed over R18 500 to the officials.
Abamo was granted R3000 bail and he is expected to appear again on 28 October 2019 at the same court.
