An off duty security officer was robbed of his cellphone by two armed suspects on Hazelmere Road in Canelands this afternoon (Monday).
At approximately 18:14 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to a general dealer after the victim was robbed while purchasing airtime in the store. Upon arrival, it was established that two suspects had entered the business, drew firearms and robbed the victim of his Samsung cellphone. They then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The suspects are believed to be linked to a robbed that occurred at a fast food outlet that occurred in the Verulam CBD this afternoon.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects however no arrests were made.
