JOHANNESBURG CENTRAL – Police arrested a 39-year-old male for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at corner Claim and Noord Street on 06 November 2019 at 12:00.
Police were busy with their routine crime prevention foot patrols when they saw a suspicious male changing direction. They stopped and searched for him. They recovered an unlicensed firearm with no serial number and live rounds. He failed to produce a license to possess a firearm.
The firearm will be sent to ballistic testing to ascertain if it was used in the commission of other serious and violent crimes. The investigation is underway and suspect will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
