Run your city with Mitsubishi Motors

The Maputo 10k CityRun race route is designed to take participants along the historic and iconic routes around the capital of Mozambique, giving it a touristic element and making it more than a race – an economic opportunity for every community it passes through.

Mitsubishi’s tried and tested Triton, as well as the Pajero Sport that will be displayed by the Mitsubishi Motors’ dealer in the Maputo showroom, will join the race for international, local and South African athletes in a supporting capacity to ensure the organisers, officials, safety officers and emergency personnel get to where they need to be.

“The challenging Maputo CityRun is the fourth city in the series that has been run for the last five years, and we have again stepped up as event transport sponsors with no less than four different models to support the event staff in all their transport needs,” says Nic Campbell, General Manager of Mitsubishi Motors South Africa.

With a 10km flat course, the race will start at the Katembe Municipal Building and will offer participants the opportunity to enjoy the landscape of Maputo city, passing by the iconic Tunduru Botanical Gardens, before the finish at Independence Square.

“The city roads will be no challenge for the Triton that will be equally at home in the city environment,” says Campbell.

Following in the footsteps of the current events in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban, the FNB Maputo 10K CityRun will be an exhilarating mass participation road race that will celebrate the splendour of the city of Maputo. Runners (and walkers) will be treated to a journey that will highlight the iconic Maputo–Katembe bridge as well as many other beautiful landmarks in Maputo.

“We are both excited and proud to take the FNB Run Your City Series to Maputo,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of organisers Stillwater Sports, a valued partner of Mitsubishi Motors South Africa.
