On Tuesday, 10 December 2019 various stations within the John Taolo Gaetsewe Cluster operationalized to conduct roadblocks in Kuruman, Batlharos and Mothibistad.

The cluster office members under the command of Major General Johan Bean, Traffic Department officials and Community Policing Forum (CPF) members took part in the operation.

During these roadblocks, road users were advised to adhere to Traffic Regulations and practise safety this festive season while being responsible road users.

Furthermore, the intention was to close the 16 Days of Activism awareness campaign. Members distributed domestic violence pamphlets among members of the public.

Members of the public were advised to act responsibly during the festive season and beyond and to report any form of violence against women and children to police.

In order for festive season operations to run smoothly, after the roadblocks, a prayer session was conducted by SAPS Employee Health and Wellness Services (EHW) for devine intervention to give men and women in blue the necessary wisdom and protection to win a battle against crime.

The JTG Cluster Commander, Major General Johan Bean applauded all role players who were involved in these operations and encourage all to remain committed and united during the festive season and beyond to ensure safer communities.
