MEC Ntuli visits R66 Road Crash Survivors at Empangeni Hospital

Today, the MEC for Transport, Community Safety and LIaison, Bheki Ntuli visited the R66 road crash survivors at Empangeni hospital.

Preliminary reports revealed that the driver of a Nissan Tiida lost control on a right curve and collided head-on with a Mercedes Benz carrying Undlunkulu weSilo and three other passengers. The driver of the Nissan Tiida was declared dead on the scene while those that were travelling in the Mercedes Benz escaped with minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and trauma care.

MEC Ntuli was accompanied by King Cetshwayo District Municipality Mayor, Cllr Nonhle Mkhulisa and Umhlathuze Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr Mduduzi Mhlongo, as well as senior management officials from the KZN Department of Transport, including Acting Head of Transport, Ms Simanga Ngubo.
