50 Cattle stolen from a kraal at a farm in Mtubatuba

In the early hours of 4 January 2020, a herd of cattle was stolen at a farm in Mtubatuba. It is alleged that the herdsman noticed in the morning that a total of 50 cattle were stolen from the kraal at a farm.

He immediately notified the nearby famers and KwaMbonambi Stock Theft Unit. A search was conducted and all the stolen stock was recovered in the bushes at KwaMbonambi area. The suspects were nowhere to be seen when the cattle were recovered. All the recovered stolen stock were handed to the farm foreman. No case was opened.

“We are appealing to stock owners to make sure that they look after their stock and also whilst grazing. We will continue to fight stock theft in partnership with the rural livestock owners. All the suspicious people and the vehicles must be reported to the police,” said the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula.
