Police operation stop drug dealers in their tracks

The Western Cape Provincial Organised Crime detectives and members attached to Vredendal SAPS stopped drug dealers in their tracks when they followed up on information they received about drugs that were transported and distributed by the suspects. Yesterday 24 January 2020, the members stopped and searched a vehicle occupied by two suspects. Upon searching it, they found a total of 60 Mandrax tablets hidden behind a steering wheel and arrested the two men.

Preliminary investigation conducted led the police to an address where they found more drugs and arrested another suspect. All three suspects aged 24, 27 and 34 are expected to appear in the Vredendal Magistrates’ Court on Monday 27 January 2020 on charges of dealing in drugs.

Meanwhile, members attached to Provincial Detectives Organised Crime Investigation Narcotics in Cape Town acted on information they received at an address in Kleinmond. They found a hydroponic laboratory with equipment and 140 dagga plants worth R252 000-00. Three men aged 22, 23 and 26 were arrested. They will appear in court on Monday 27 January 2020.
