Classroom destroyed in a fire in Waterloo – KZN

A grade R classroom was gutted by fire at a private creche on Pricklepear Road in Waterloo.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa arrived at the scene and found that the metal structure had already collapsed. With the use of a garden hose and buckets of water, Reaction Officers and neighbours contained the fire which was prevented from spreading to the main building. The blaze was extinguished on arrival of the Fire Department. No children were on the premises when the building caught alight.

According to a neighbor the fire spread to the outside classroom after old books and general refuse was burnt near the building.
