Employee injured in Pie City robbery in Tongaat – KZN

A female employee was injured during a robbery at Pie City on Gopalall Hurbans Road in Tongaat.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the business at approximately 08:54 after receiving multiple calls from the public reporting shots being fired. On arrival, it was established that two men entered the store and produced firearms. A female employee was pistol-whipped by the gunmen.

Shots were fired as the suspects fled the store. Police recovered a replica firearm that was dropped by one of the suspects. The injured female was treated on scene for minor injuries by Paramedics from a private ambulance service.

Police are on scene and investigating further.
