Ransom demand for kidnap victim in Umbilo – KZN

The public is requested to be on the lookout for 37-year-old Denver Ragavan.

Denver’s employer arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters in Verulam this morning requesting assistance after they learnt of his kidnapping.

Ragavan is a foreman for a construction company and was kidnapped from UKZN Howard College in Umbilo shortly after he arrived on site. The Chatsworth resident contacted his employer at 07:48 and informed him that he was being held in KwaMashu and his captures are demanding R20 000 for his release. His black Jeep Renegade (registration unknown at this stage) was also taken. The vehicle has black mag rims.

This is the third case of kidnapping which RUSA has attended to in the past week. A case of kidnapping is currently being registered at the Umbilo SAPS.
