A 23-year-old male suspect was arrested by members of Reaction Unit South Africa approx two (2) kilometres from the scene of an Attempted Housebreaking.
The RUSA Operations Center received the call at approx 11:00 am from a resident in Petunia Place in Temple Valley. Reaction Officers arrived on scene and was informed that a suspect gained entry onto the property & fled without removing any valuables from the home after he was disturbed. Officers viewed the footage that was captured on CCTV & went in search of the suspect. His description was circulated via radio to all vehicles in the surrounding area and the suspect was located on Wick Street in the Verulam Cbd by patrolling Officers.
During an interview, the suspect informed Officers that he resided in Cottonlands & had travelled to Verulam to break into homes for financial gain.
