FREE STATE – Six suspects aged between 16 and 40 appeared in Odendaalsrus Magistrate court today 02 March 2020 after they were found with possible gold-bearing material and the case has been postponed for formal bail application.
On Saturday 29 February 2020, Odendaalsrus Community Service Centre and Detectives assisted by Welkom Flying Squad and K9 unit followed a crime intelligence information about suspicious movements in one of the houses at Eldorie, Hospital Park.
A particular house was approached and a request to search the premises granted. During the search, possible gold-bearing material, gas bottles, sink plates and mercury were found and seized. Items used to process gold-bearing material were also seized.
