A 57-year-old man has been killed in a motor vehicle accident in Inanda – KZN last night (Sunday).
At approximately 20:23 members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Inanda Road after a 1 series BMW plummeted nearly 30 meters down an embankment. On arrival Medics from a private ambulance service were in the process of extricating the critically injured passenger from the vehicle.
With the assistance of tow truck operators, the man was brought up the steep embankment to the roadside. Due to the extent of his injuries, he died at the scene. His 38-year-old son was not injured in the accident.
It is alleged that the deceased was being transported to the hospital for a medical emergency when his son lost control of the vehicle on a bend and crashed down an embankment.
