Two men arrested for contravention of Disaster Management Act and bribery

KWAZULU-NATAL – Yesterday, 05 April 2020 at approximately 16:00, Ethekwini Inner South Cluster Task Team arrested two men for contravening the Disaster Management Act in Shallcross. Whilst police were executing their duties, one of the suspects offered police an R10 000-00 bribe. The members refused the bribe resulting in the arrest of the suspect. Police seized 430 packets of cigarettes and cash.

Both accused aged 25 and 30 will accuse appear before the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on charges of the Contravention of the Disaster Management Act and bribery.
