A hospital employee was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of Osindisweni Government Hospital (OGH) in Verulam last night (Saturday).
At approximately 22:52 the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Center received a call regarding the incident. Reaction Officers were dispatched and on arrival it was established that a lone suspect dressed in dark clothing approached the victim in the parking lot and robbed him of his Samsung cellphone. The suspect then fled through the damaged perimeter fence. It is believed that he used the same opening in the fence to enter the property. The victim was not injured.
Police were on scene and are investigating further.
