A 72-year-old male was stabbed during a robbery in Verulam CBD

A 72-year-old male was stabbed on his hand during a robbery in the Verulam CBD.

Reaction Unit South Africa received the call for assistance. Paramedics were dispatched to the home in Ottawa after the victim drove to his residence from the scene of the crime on Wick Street – Verulam.

According to the elderly male, he had just exited a hardware store and walked across the road to his vehicle that was parked in front of the Verulam Market. He was accosted by two African male suspects who robbed him of his wallet contacting cash, his identity card and drivers licence. The suspects then stabbed him on his right hand and fled on foot.

One suspect is attired in a green and red shirt with a black jacket. The victim could not provide a description of the second suspect.
