PORT ELIZABETH – A mother and daughter died in a shack fire last night, 29 June 2020, in Bloemendal.
It is alleged that at about 22:00, the neighbors of the Danny Jordaan informal settlement in Bloemendal, heard frantic screams for help. When they went outside, they saw the shack on fire. The woman and her 3-year-old daughter died in the fire. At this stage, it is unknown what started the fire. The deceased are unknown at this stage and police have yet to trace the next of kin.
An inquest docket is opened.
