Six bank following robbery suspects arrested in Tshwane

PARKTOWN – Police have arrested six men who are suspected to be behind bank following robberies around Gauteng. The suspects were arrested at Menlyn Mall in Tshwane after they were found in possession of unlicensed firearms and using a vehicle with cloned number plates.

Intelligence-driven information led the Gauteng Police’s Organised Crime Unit to Tshwane where the suspects who were driving two different cars were spotted.

The cars were intercepted at Menlyn Mall at approximately 12h00 today. Upon searching the suspects, police found unlicensed firearms. It was also established that one of the cars was fitted with false number plates.

Suspects were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms. More charges might be added pending the Investigation.

This arrest comes two days after two men were sentenced to life imprisonment after they were found guilty of the bank following robbery and murder committed in Diepsloot in 2018.
