DURBAN – On 22 June 2020 at 09:20, the naked body of Amanda Mthembu (11) was found by Gingindlovu police and the Umhlali K9 Unit at a sugarcane field in Dokodweni Reserve. She was allegedly strangled to death. Charges of murder and rape were opened at Gingindlovu police station for investigation. She was missing from 14 June 2020.
After an intensive investigation and sleepless nights by Gingindlovu detectives, a 17-year-old suspect was arrested at Dokodweni yesterday at 13:00. He will appear tomorrow at Mtunzini Magistrate’s Court facing murder and rape charges.
