Brake failure blames for road crash in Canelands in KZN

A six (6) year old girl was among three people injured after the vehicle they were travelling in collided into a light pole on Vincent Dickinson Road in Canelands this morning (Saturday).

At approximately 09:22 members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene and found that a blue Hyundai Getz collided head on into a light pole. The three (3) occupants of the vehicle including the toddler suffered moderate injuries and were transported to hospital by ambulance.

According to the driver she was travelling in the direction of Verulam when the brakes on her vehicle failed. She veered off the road in an attempt to bring the vehicle to a stop but collided into the light pole.

The vehicle was extensively damaged in the accident.
