Police continue to clamp down on drug trafficking in Jan Kempdorp

NORTHERN CAPE – Members of Jan Kempdorp Crime Intelligence and Kimberley K9 unit continued unabated to remove drugs from the streets today, 16 July 2020 when they arrested two males. The members started at 10:00 raiding different addresses where it was alleged that drugs were being sold.

The joint team followed up on information regarding drugs being sold in Jan Kempdorp.

When they searched a house in Stasieweg, they discovered CAT with an estimated street value of R35 100-00, TIK worth R5 400-00 and cash amounting to R350-00 believed to be the proceeds of the sale of the drugs.

Two male suspects aged 22 and 28 years old were arrested and charged with dealing in drugs.

The two suspects will soon appear in the Jan Kempdorp Magistrates court.

The Commanders of Group D, Brigadiers Nicky Mills, Bossie Jacobs and Brig Mojapela Moreki commended the members for their persistence in squeezing the space for drug dealers to operate. The police will follow a zero-tolerance approach when it comes to drug trafficking in the province.
