Police intercepts dagga consignment destined for delivery in Upington

UPINGTON – Members conducting COVID-19 law enforcement duties received information about dagga that was being transported to Upington by bus on Monday, 20 July 2020 at about 05:30. They followed up on the information and visited the bus stop to investigate.

A search was conducted on the bus on its arrival in Upington whereby dagga to the estimated value of R 44 478 was located by the K9 sniffer dog stashed in one of the passenger’s luggage. The 26-year-old male was arrested for Dealing in Dagga and he will soon appear before the Magistrate’s Court of Upington.

The station commander of Upington SAPS, Brigadier Sampie Koopman commended the members and said they must continue with the good work, creating a safe and secure environment for all.
