Victim shot multiple times during a robbery in Phoenix

A 35 year old Malawian national is currently being stabilized by RUSA Medics after he was shot multiple times during a robbery on Wallfern Close in Redfern, Phoenix.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Phoenix Operations Center received several calls from residents reporting shots being fired in the vicinity. One caller confirmed that a man had been shot and was lying on the roadside.

Reaction Officers arrived on scene at approximately 18:47 and established that the shoe factory employee was on his way from work to his residence in Bhambayi when he was accosted by two men. Details leading up to the shooting are unclear at this stage however it is alleged that the men intended on robbing him. When the victim resisted they fired at least seven-shot four of which struck him in the chest, arms and foot. The suspects then fled on foot.

Reaction Officers are currently searching for the suspects.
