Woman robbed after following bank withdrawal in Trenance Park

A woman was robbed of R10 000 by a lone suspect shortly after she alighted from a taxi on the corner of Sunlark Drive and Ocean Crest Place in Dawncrest.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on the scene. The victim explained that she withdrew the cash from a bank in Verulam and was returning to her home in Trenance Park by taxi. The money was going to be used for renovations on her home.

Shortly after alighting from the minibus, she was accosted by a man who produced a knife and robbed her of her handbag containing the cash. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

Members of the community who gathered at the scene claimed to know the suspect. They stated that he was a Heroin addict who supported his habit by committing acts of criminality.

Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect however he still remains at large.
