Commercial manager, Con Roux, retires from N3 Toll Concession

Following his remarkable journey at N3 Toll Concession, N3TC announces the retirement of its commercial manager, Con Roux, on 30 September 2020.

“Con was involved in the birth of N3 Toll Concession, initially as part of the team preparing and planning the original bid, and then, the team overseeing environmental affairs and community liaison during the initial construction phase.

In 2002, Con permanently joined N3TC as commercial manager. During the last 18 years, Con has had a vast and positive impact on our business operations, our stakeholder relationships, and the various communities we serve through N3TC’s successful Touching Lives programme. The company, and all our stakeholders, are indebted to Con for the leadership example he has set and his exceptional work along the N3 Corridor over the last two decades. His contributions will continue to stand us in good stead,” says CEO, Neil Tolmie.

Thania Dhoogra, N3TC’s operations manager, will now fill Con Roux’s shoes as an official company spokesperson, and will henceforth also take responsibility for N3TC’s Touching Lives programme and the company’s communication and marketing functions.

“Thania joined N3TC in 2004 and has been exposed to every aspect of our business operations. Her career progressed through the ranks from technical information manager to operations manager. With an Honours Degree in Commerce and currently in the process of completing an MBA, Thania is geared to take on her additional responsibilities. N3TC has every confidence in her,” ends Tolmie.

“It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work alongside Con from the day I joined the N3TC family. Con first interviewed me and has been unfailing in his willingness to listen, guide and offer a helping hand. He epitomises teamwork and his “can do” attitude and zest for life are infectious. Con has touched the lives of many people and has forged countless treasured relationships,” says Dhoogra.

In his final greeting, Con mentioned the growth and development of the Touching Lives programme and his close working relationship with colleagues, stakeholders, community members and the media as the highlights of his career.

“I have immense gratitude for every person who has contributed to my career and personal growth. I wish to extend my warm appreciation for all the wonderful partnerships I have enjoyed along the way, and the countless opportunities to share N3TC’s vision and details about the N3 Toll Route operations with our communities, road users, and the public in general. This has in no small measure contributed to safe, convenient and well-informed travels, especially over holidays and other peak traffic periods. I am indebted to each and every person with whom I have worked for their professionalism and for making my work such a pleasure,” ends Roux.
