Covid-19 operations yield positive results across Limpopo

The ongoing operations that were conducted in all the Districts in relation to COVID-19 compliance, have yielded positive results on Friday, 18 September 2020.

The Police in Bela-Bela, Groblersdal and Namakgale managed to achieve numerous successes.

In Groblersdal, the operation was led by Colonel Kekana from the Provincial Crime Prevention and it kick started with a parade at Groblersdal police station. Police were cautioned about the main goal of the operation and application of disciple while executing their duties.

The operation comprised of the Provincial Crime Prevention, K9 Unit, the Highway Patrol Team and the Stations Vispol policing members supported by the SANDF.

During this operation, 17 people were arrested for contravention of Liquor Act and five for contravention of the Road Traffic Act.

Meanwhile, the SAPS Namakgale Social Crime Prevention Coordinators, Constable Maswanganye, Sergeant Chauke, CPF, YCOP, VEP and YAC board members, conducted the door to door awareness campaign focussing on Domestic violence at Malungane village.

The total number of 146 individuals were offered services in relation to VEP, YAC and YCOP, sexual abuses and procedure to report domestic violence.

Lastly, the SAPS Lephalale Acting Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mabila spearheaded the operation that was focusing on liquor, firearms, Immigration and road traffic acts.

The stop and search operations in Onverwacht dumping side and Mahlakung informal settlement were conducted following complaints by the management of Lephalale hospital.

Meanwhile, in the SAPS Waterberg District, Colonel Rasebeka led the operation in Modimolle and Bela-Bela Policing areas. The operation comprised of members from different Police Units including Air-wing that resulted in the arrest of 32 suspects for various offences.

The operation was conducted through road blocks, tracing of wanted suspects, raiding of shebeens and tarvens.
