At approximately 12h50 today, Crisis Medical were called out to the corner of Old Bush Road and William Campbell Drive in La Lucia after receiving reports of a serious motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, Crisis Medical paramedics found a single motor vehicle which had overturned and rolled multiple times. Upon further investigation a female driver was found still entrapped in the vehicle.
Together with the assistance of Durban Metro Fire and Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioners the patient was stabilized and then freed from the vehicle.
Due to the extent of the patients injuries advanced life support measures were required and Netcare 911 helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the patient to hospital for further care.
The SAPS were on scene and an investigation into the cause of the accident will be conducted.
