At approximately 19h30 on Sunday evening Crisis Medical responded to a serious multiple vehicle accident on the M4 South after the La Lucia on ramp.
Upon arrival, Crisis Medical paramedics found that two vehicles had lost control on the M4 and had veered off the highway. Paramedics found one driver from one of the vehicles to be entrapped and together with the help of Ethekwini Metro Fire, Netcare 911 and KZN VIP Medical the driver was eventually freed. The driver was stabilized on scene and required Advanced Life support and was transported to hospital shortly after being freed from the wreckage. The driver and passenger from the second vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

The cause of the accident is unknown and will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
