At least fifteen people were left injured this afternoon when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a taxi on the N8 Sannaspos in Bloemfontein.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 14h35 to find the light motor vehicle in the middle of the road. The taxi was found parked a short distance away. Several people were found walking around on the scene.
On closer inspection, medics found a man in his 50s lying inside the motor vehicle in a critical condition while at least fifteen other patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically injured man provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
