Four suspects nabbed with drugs in Port Shepstone

The widespread use and dealing in drugs remains a priority for the South African Police Service.

The team from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit are continuing with their mandate to clean-up our streets. An operation was carried out by the team at Port Shepstone on 02 October 2020, at Mkholombe, Ryder Street taxi rank and on Nelson Mandela Drive.

Four suspects aged between 26 and 37 were arrested after they were found with 74 pieces of heroin, 72 plastic packets of heroin and 225 capsules of heroin. The value of the drugs is estimated at R73 000-00. The suspects are expected to appear before the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 05 October 2020 for possession of drugs.

“The recent arrests and the recovery of drugs in the province proves that we are determined to clean up our streets from the drug lords,” said the Acting KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Major General Thulani Gonya.
