Passerby Discovers Man Hanging From Tree at Waterloo in KZN

The body of a man hanging from a tree was discovered by a passerby in a dense bush (picture 5) opposite Phase 6, Waterloo this afternoon (Thursday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 16:47 and found the Verulam SAPS in attendance. A large crowd consisting of residents from Waterloo and pedestrians were also on the scene.
Medics assessed the man and declared him dead on arrival. He was found hanging by a rope tied to a tree. The deceased’s employee identification card was found in his possession. Residents claimed that the 47-year-old man was seen walking around the area this morning.
Circumstances leading up to the suicide has not been established at this stage.
