A Toyota Hilux bakkie that was stolen from Maine Parade on the Durban beachfront was recovered in Phoenix by members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA).
Reaction Officers received a Tracker activation at approximately 08:07. The vehicle was emitting signals in the Phoenix and Mount Edgecombe area. Reaction Officers tracked the vehicle to a block of flats on Fairlawn Crescent in Unit 2, Phoenix, and found the bakkie abandoned in the parking lot.
The registration plates were changed and the ignition was damaged.
