Driver reportedly runs away after head-on crash in Ndwedwe, KZN

The driver of a Toyota Corolla fled the scene of an accident after his vehicle collided head on into a Mercedes Benz on Ndwedwe Road in the vicinity of Ezindlovini Primary School last night (Friday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 19:19 and found that both vehicles were extensively damaged. Witnesses stated that the Toyota Corolla was traveling at a high rate of speed in the direction of Verulam when the driver lost control and knocked into the Mercedes Benz that was traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla fled leaving his injured passenger behind. He was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol however this could not be verified. Two occupants of the

Mercedes Benz were also injured.

The injured were transported to hospital by ambulance.
