Supermarket and bottle stored robbed in Ottawa

Globes Bottle Store and Globes Supermarket on Old Main Road in Ottawa were robbed by three men.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the incident. On arrival, it was established that the gunmen accosted a security guard who was posted at the entrance of the bottle store. They then forced their way into the business where they stole cash and a cellphone before locking an employee and the security guard in an office.

The suspects then proceeded to the supermarket next door where they stole cash from the tills. They questioned the owner’s 16-year-old son in regard to the location of the safe. The robbers fled after they were informed that there was no safe. It could not be confirmed if they fled on foot or had a getaway vehicle waiting in the vicinity.

The two men were freed from the office. No injuries were reported.
