WESTERN CAPE – The drug trade in the Milnerton area was dealt a blow today when members attached to Milnerton Crime Prevention Unit confiscated drugs and arrested a 29-year-old man for dealing in drugs.
Information was received from a reliable source pertaining to a vehicle that was transporting drugs.
After the information was followed up, the vehicle a white Ford was spotted driving in Koeberg Road, Milnerton. The vehicle was pulled over by Milnerton Crime Prevention Unit members who searched the vehicle where cocaine and mandrax were discovered.
After further investigation, a large quantity of cocaine and an undisclosed amount of money were also confiscated from the suspect’s premises. The estimated value for the drugs is R1 million.
Once charged the suspect will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate Court on the mentioned charges.
In an unrelated matter, Bishop Lavis SAPS clamped down on gang members and confiscated ammunition on Monday 16 November 2020 at around 17:00.
The members were busy with routine patrols in Ironwood Street in Bonteheuwel, when they noticed a gang member in the road. They stopped and searched him and discovered a total of 20 .22 rounds of ammunition in his pocket.
The 33-year-old male, a member of a local gang was arrested and detained at Bishop Lavis SAPS. He appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate court today, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 on a charge of illegal possession of ammunition.
