Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga led from the front in enforcing compliance of Disaster Management Act Regulations around Buffalo City Metro over the weekend.
The operation focused on liquor outlets, as they are viewed as contributing to rapid transmission of COVID-19. A number of outlets were visited to ensure compliance. Lt Gen Ntshinga condemned non-compliance and left a stern warning with irresponsible residents of Mdantsane. “While fighting crime, we will never tolerate behaviour of irresponsible residents who do not comply with Disaster Management Act Regulations, as they are placing the entire community at risk”, she said.
The operation also aimed at ensuring safety of the citizens during the Festive Season and beyond.
