MasterDrive keeps the foot on the pedal despite a challenging 2020

Despite the difficulty of 2020 across the world, MasterDrive has faced the challenges head-on and even managed to see a number of exciting developments.

Webinars

Connecting with our loyal customers is an important tradition at MasterDrive. When it became clear that continuing with this tradition would not be possible, the team evolved with the times and moved online. Our webinars, or colloquiums as we prefer to call them, were born as a way for us to connect with customers and share vital information to help companies navigate these difficult times and introduce international speakers to our events.

Since then, the colloquiums have grown exponentially and we look forward to 2021. Due to their popularity, the colloquiums will now be a part of our events calendar even when COVID-19 is under control and people resume their normal lives.

Virtual training and eLearning

When lockdown started in South Africa, MasterDrive already had an eLearning programme in place and was ready to assist companies that were dedicated to maintaining their health and safety requirements.

Despite this, there was still need for instructor-led virtual training that MasterDrive rose to the occasion to provide. MasterDrive acknowledged both the importance of helping companies meet health and safety demands and the need to flatten the curve. Consequently, measures were taken to ensure both needs were catered for responsibly and within the regulations put in place under the State of Disaster.

The instructor-led virtual training continues to be in high-demand as it provides a solution for companies that cannot participate in interpersonal training yet. Do not fear, however, as interpersonal training, under strict protocols, still remains a major part of operations as well.

New premises

2020 also saw the first training sessions and events hosted at two new premises. The first is located across the road from the Ticketpro Dome in the overflow parking area. It was specially designed to accommodate all types of training from rollover prevention training to the newest training initiatives. The recent growth seen by MasterDrive necessitated a similar growth in facilities.

Along with the training area, clients will also have access to a mobile training room where theoretical training can take place.

The new facility is also home to a skid pad that does not use water when the need arises. It is important that we deliver training in a way that minimises the impact on our environment.

The second training facility is located at Formula-K track in Benoni. Various training initiatives will take place there in a safe and controlled environment. Conveniently, the mobile classroom can be moved between the two locations.

MasterDrive looks forward to the opportunities that the new venues present.
