Police bust alleged drug dealers and confiscate over R500 000 worth of Nyaope drugs

Members of the Saps Limpopo Highway Patrol Team have arrested four (04) suspects aged between 29 and 48 for bribery, transportation of drugs, possession and dealing in drugs during the sting festive season operations in the Capricorn District.

During the arrest two of the suspects aged 29 and 41 in Polokwane, members received information wherein a suspicious movement of two men driving a white Chevrolet bakkie exchanged plastics at Penina Park suburb in the City of Polokwane. They swiftly reacted to the alert, on arrival, the suspects were approached and searched. Police recovered two hundred and thirty seven (237) small packages of nyaope-drugs hidden in the vehicle.

The two suspects were immediately nabbed and they further went to the apartment of one the suspect at Flora Park Surbub. His room was searched and police found nyaope powder with the estimated street value of five hundred thousand (R500 000. 00). He also tried to bribe the officers with three thousand (R3000) and a charge of bribery was added.

Meanwhile, the other two suspects aged 47 and 48 were arrested separately at Bendor and Thornhill Surbubs in the City of Polokwane for possession and dealing in drugs during the operation conducted since last night, on the 30 November 2020 until this morning, on the 01 December 2020.

The Police were tipped off about the suspects selling drugs at a certain house in Bendor. On arrival, they searched the house and found three hundred and seventy-seven (377) plastics of nyaope drugs inside the house. In the process, this suspect tried to jump over the window that crushed, he then grabbed the broken class and stabbed himself in the head. The Police managed to stop him. He was arrested and taken to the hospital for medical treatment under police guard.

Another positive information led to a house at Thornhill, where a 48-year-old suspect was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs. Police searched the house and found twelve (12) rocks of nyaope drugs.
