Just after 19h00 dRK Tactical received multiple calls for an armed robbery in progress at a popular convenience store in Gordon Road, Morningside.
Armed Response officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival on scene, further information ascertained revealed that five suspects armed with firearms, entered the establishment, holding up the manager.
The men made off with an undisclosed amount of money as well as numerous cellular phones, fleeing in an awaiting getaway vehicle.
No injuries were sustained in the ordeal.
The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
