Members from the Provincial Integrated Team participating in efforts to deal with one of this province’s crime generators, dealing in drugs. Today the members acted on information about a woman who is dealing in drugs in Gugulethu.
The members descended to the address and upon their arrival, they found 1100 mandrax tablets worth an estimated street value of R60 000-00. Four people aged between 40 and 51 were arrested for dealing in drugs and an undisclosed amount of money was also confiscated.
Meanwhile, last night Gugulethu police responded to a complaint of a shooting at NY6 in Gugulethu and when they arrived on the scene they saw a man who had a firearm in his hand, he could not produce a license and he was arrested. The suspect aged 41 is facing a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm.
All five suspects are expected to appear in the Athlone magistrates’ court once they are charged.
