Two suspects arrested on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in Uitsig, Ravensmead

Anti-Gang Unit members deployed in the early hours of this morning at about 00:45 in Uitsig, Ravensmead, were lauded for making sure that two criminals were arrested and two unlicensed firearms and ammunition were recovered.

Members of the AGU received information about a suspect which a firearm in a shack at a premises in Geranium Avenue, Uitsig. The members conducted a search at the premises and found a shotgun with three rounds of ammunition hidden under the floor. A 48-year-old male was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

At the same time the other group of AGU went to search another premises in Geranium Avenue and found a Pistol with three magazines and nine 9mm rounds of ammunition. A 40-year-old male was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Both suspects will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates Court once charged.
