Police on Saturday, 20 March 2021, responded to a shooting incident at Lenasia taxi rank and on arrival spotted a man who allegedly had been firing shots indiscriminately at the taxi rank. The man started running and police gave chase, swiftly cornering and arresting the suspect.
During the arrest, police seized an AK-47 rifle, a 9mm pistol, and ammunition, found in the suspect’s possession.
The suspect will be profiled to establish linkage to other serious and violent crimes.
The man is expected to appear before the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court soon.
